It's August 2013, and this is my first 'awesome' food blog (blog...that's such a weird name. Whoever thought of that?) Anyway, I'm Melanee, and I've had 'awesome' Celiac for 20 years! Thanks to all the gluten-free 'grains' and 'processed' gluten-free food I ate after I was diagnosed, I put on weight. So, as a process of 'elimination';-), I've tried to follow a low-carb diet for the last 15 years. Thus, my goal for this 'awesome' website is to share with you gluten free recipes and most of them will be low carb, grain free and sugar free. Occasionally, I might throw in a few 'awesome' tidbits about my pretty 'awesome' life (actually, it's my family, friends, animals, and beliefs that make it so 'awesome'. . . I'll expound more in various post.) But for the most part, I'll just stick with 'awesome' recipes.
One of my favorite things in life is modifying gluten-based recipes and creating tasty wheat-free, gluten-free, sugar-free, low-carb, and mostly grain-free (what's left?) dishes. Some people may not consider this way of eating as being healthy; however, I'm convinced that a diet laden with processed sugar and grains is WAY MORE detrimental to our overall health and wellness than a low-carb, grain-free, whole-food lifestyle.
As with most everything in life, including myself, this website is a work in progress. The good news is . . . the BEST is yet to be!
I really appreciate you dropping by.
The following is a 'growing' list of things that make me happy:
